Alien: Isolation Is Free on Epic and Just As Good as It Was in 2014

Epic is giving away a number of games for free over the holidays, and today’s is a modern horror classic. Alien: Isolation is currently free today, Dec. 21, to own on the Epic Games Store for PC.

Horror games come in many forms these days, from the classic single-player experiences to multiplayer endeavors like Dead By Daylight and Phasmophobia. If you’re looking for a sci-fi flavor and the feeling of being hunted around a space station, though, you can’t go wrong with Alien. Rather than the action-oriented style of Alien vs. Predator, developer Creative Assembly opted for a horror experience where, much like Ripley in the original Alien, you’re just trying to survive.

Originally released in 2014, Alien: Isolation is a bloody and brilliant romp through the sci-fi future of Alien, complete with the xenomorph itself stalking you through the vents and halls. If you dug the feeling of constantly being hunted by the likes of Resident Evil 2’s Mr. X or Resident Evil 3’s Nemesis, this is a pretty similar feeling. You might be able to slow or even stop the xenomorph for a spell, but it will always resume the hunt.

You can add the game to your account and download it using the Epic Games Store. Several other games have been offered already, and it seems like leaks are indicating tomorrow’s game could be a Metro game. Either way, Alien: Isolation is a great game, and for the low, low price of free, absolutely worth picking up. What better way to ring in the holidays than running for your life from mean, scary aliens?
